Rice fields in the Jike countryside on August 6, 2013

I visited the Jike countryside in the hot summer morning on August 6, 2013, which happened to be the 68th anniversary of the Hiroshima atomic bomb. A gentle breeze was making ripples in the rice fields and also diffusing the scent of sweet yet somewhat lighly "burnt" rice plants everywhere. All you could hear was the noisy "chorus" of cicadas.
