Marquis Maeda's residence, a hitorical house - From northern Yokohama, Japan

Marquis Maeda's residence, a historical house

On a sunny November afternoon in 2010, my wife and I visited Marquis Maeda's residence which is located in Meguro-ward, Tokyo, and now belongs to the local public office and is open to the public. The residence was built in 1929 for Marquis Toshinari Maeda, an army general and a direct descendant of the powerful Maeda clan during the Tokugawa period. From the main entrance, you will come right up to a majestic mansion resembling a typical British country residence. In the backside, there is an authentic Japanese style quarters, including a tea house,

built for entertaining foreign guests.
